You decide who gets access to your smart home system, for both local and remote access. Here are the instructions for adding another user to your local access account only. If you're looking to add another user to remote access, check out the remote access article here. Multiple steps are involved in the process to protect your privacy and keep the system secure.

Adding Users to Local Access

1. From the sidebar navigation menu of the Z-Box web interface, go to Settings by clicking on the gear icon.

2. You will be redirected to the Device menu. Next, click on the Access menu.

3. Click on Add User in the top right corner.

4. Provide the user’s name and email address and click Next.

5. You will see the pending user invitation under the Access menu.

6. Now, after sending the invitation to the hub, you can manage and restrict access to specific groups of devices and functions. To do so click on Manage Access. If you want the invited user to have access to all of the devices and functions you don’t have to take any action.

7. You can edit the access rights of the particular user for devices (individual, rooms, sections), scenes, profiles, temperature, and alarm zones. For example, to remove access to a specific room, uncheck the box next to the room name and click Save to confirm your changes.

8. To accept the hub’s access invitation, please ask your user to check their inbox for the invite email which will contain an auto-generated password. It is recommended to change that password the first time the user logs in. Remember this is local access only, so it is only accessible when the user is connected to the same network as the hub via the Z-Box web interface or Z-Box mobile device. For remote access, please see our article here
